Bernard printed this on the Desteni Forums and I thought that this warranted further treatment in playing with the contexts given below. We will be linking money and religion together to take apart these constructs.
The Vocabulary of Money
08 June 2009
In economics, to save is to “store up” or “put aside” money for another day in the future. This is done to ensure our financial (survival) future. If saving your money isn’t possible, then your future will be bleak and you’ll be at the mercy of others who do have money; that is, you will be “Cast out into the darkness.”
In religion, “God” or Jesus “saves” us from “sin.” According to the Christian religious belief system, Jesus rescues us from “God’s” infinite wrath and judgment by sacrificing his innocent human body to remove (apparently) our flawed and evil nature. God thus “puts aside” our sins so we can enjoy a blissful eternity united with Him.
Jesus is reported to say in Luke 6:37-42 –
“Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
If Jesus did say this, then he seems to be describing the mechanics of the unified consciousness field; of “karma,” as it were. Forgiveness is one of the most admirable things about the Christian belief system. It’s a pity that is isn’t lived by Christians. Forgiveness is the absolute release of the past, of the perceived regrets and failures of yourself and others – freeing yourself by giving and forgiving yourself absolutely.
Of course, in dealing with the money system we have provisions to forgive, as well. The forgiveness in this instance cancels the debt. This forgiveness is available to individuals, corporations and even countries. The idea and practice of debt forgiveness has been around since the ancient world in Mesopotamia and Athens (2000 BCE). What we do if debt forgiveness existed for the Average Joe and Jane in today’s world? We’d probably find ourselves back to the same point over time if we don’t use common sense over it, but it could be pretty cool step in getting equal money to everyone.
Everybody knows what “buying something” means. We give paper, coin or plastic to the being behind the counter for something we want. Seriously, this is how we have chosen to live! The height of absurdity in this reality is the exchanging notes and plastic in order to survive in this world.
That money is intimately involved with religion is stating the painfully obvious. What are we buying when the collection plate comes around? I supposed mostly for the upkeep of the church building and the pastor’s salary and Caddilac. But what else? The Catholic Church used to sell indulgences to all the dumbshits who believed that they could escape the “punishments” in the afterlife through purchasing these pieces of paper. Who knows how much money the Church made off of these poor, ignorant fools during that time?
Oddly enough, something that is dearly bought is paid with great sacrifice. And sacrifice is what gods in the religious drama do well and often. Jesus’ self-sacrifice was the best human beings could hope for, since this body was “God-in the-Flesh.” Many times in the churches I was forced to attend the saying that Jesus’ sacrifice for our sins was a “ransom” for our sins. I always that was a weird expression.
Ah, the money owed on a purchase is the Bill. Strangely, the Bill is also the sum of money (a “note”) which you use to pay for the item of the bill. So in essence, you pay a bill with itself. (?) Thus, the absurdity of the closed system that is the Money System is seen once again.
A multidimensional word. A title, stake, share, involvement or concern. The desire towards something, or the quality of capturing one’s attention. Also, anything towards to the benefit one’s own selfish welfare, like the right to property. Most famously, it is a banking scheme – the percentage rate of money paid for the use of that money lent towards a thing, like a car or a house, or it can be the money one earns that is lent to others . It is also the fatal flaw in the capitalist system.
In religion, we are interested in what “God” thinks of us. It is in our “best interest” to do all the things that will get us into Heaven after living a good, clean life.
The act of giving money in exchange for something done or produced. A reward or a punishment. The consequence suffered from a loss or tragedy.
We “pay for our sins” (the wages of sin is death), within the religious belief system. One needs to ask if what a human being could do in one earthly life to be infinitely punished for? Does such infinite punishment “fit the crime?” Surely not!
Cross – Signature – Mark
= Mark of the Beast – Imagine a Beast that can make Marks as a Signature
The Cross (X) was historically used as a legal signature used by the illiterate in various countries.
The biblical narrative of Revelations states that the Mark of the Beast:
“He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead,so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name.”
This book scared the jumping bejesus out of me when I was a kid. I really believed that it my sorry lot to experience that End of the World. We still might see it, but I no longer see this as a bad thing. Many Christians are already aware that the “Mark of the Beast” is here in the forms of the magnetic tape, driver’s license, credit cards, birth certificates, banking route numbers, microchips and most importantly, money. In the final, prophetic book of the Bible, we learn what the future holds for us: total control of the money system and by extension, the human beings that must live under its imposition. For the first time since the Bible began directing events and people 20 centuries ago, we have the means – hell, it’s already happened – of ensuring that our self-fulling prophecies come true. In a very real way, the Bible has programmed human beings down through the centuries into creating this specific future and placing it into the present. Problem: that death of the systematic elements in this world will probably last a lot longer and will manifest more traumatic events than we’d like. OR, we can stop and insist that all should have equally, equal money, for all as one as equal! Right here, right now.
